This project is all about getting to know my botanical neighbors, another layer of getting to know my homeplace. The way I’ve figured out how to incorporate this into my daily life is by including observational drawing in my morning walks around Eagle Rock Lake in Questa, New Mexico. A big part of this process is slowing down, taking time to notice, opening my eyes, other senses, brain, and heart to my botanical neighbors. From this light touch exploration a larger plant exploration project is emerging along with ideas for collaboration and ways to share this with others. Excited to continue this practice and see where it leads!
